Setting an internal angle with paper tape PART ONE

oh no i mean u just slap the filler or mud as u may call it on with a brush then apply the tape and go over it with the scraper which removes the excess filler :)

what do you use on your external corners? steel tape? plastic?

@scottishlad2k10 Yes I knew what you meant. I should have clarified the difference between the 2 applications is the thickness of the mud. With the brush in method you have to have the mud very thin, there for no so good at coating the tape as a slightly thicker mix using a scraper. I know it is faster but IMO not better.

We mainly use steel angles both paper and plastic angles are available but are not often used.

see if you had a 3 or 4 inch paintbrush you could use it instead of the 3 inch knife all you do is water the filler down a bit more so its thinner then apply the filler by brush stick your tape on and take excess off we find it alot faster :) which means.......more profit

Yep have seen it done that way. Personally I prefer to use a knife. I like to coat the tape rather that just cleaning off.

It will only effect "setting" type plaster compounds such as base coat and cornice adhesive, not "drying types" such as top coat or all purpose cements.
