United Nations, New York, December 2009 - On Human Rights Day, 10 December, UN Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon urges everyone everywhere to join the fight against discrimination in all its forms. To end discrimination and embrace diversity.
When will the written and spoken word be replaced with real action and result? When will democracy and understanding win over lobbyists and companies economic overflow? When will a political and economic self endorsing agendas step aside and give room for real people and their humanitarian needs?
It is time to grow some empathetical emotions now.
As long as there are governments in this world, there will be corruption. As long as the so-called "free" enterprise system, the profit-driven monetary system we live in, that is, there will be inequality, strife, unnecessary suffering, wars, crime, and so on. The UN is but a watchdog of symptoms of this system and attempts to solve problems by establishing and reinforcing laws. Laws are patchwork to the system, not solutions. Words written on paper can not change reality.
