  • I suppose most dirt bikers don't know that this trail (and most of the singletrack in that area) was built and maintained by mountain bikers over the past 15 years or so. When there's a lot of dirt bike traffic in dry conditions, it makes the trails wider, looser and rougher. It doesn't really affect the miles of ATV trails and double-track, but really wrecks the singletrack for mountain biking. Seems like the area past the dump is better for dirt bikes, and the mountain bikers stay away.

  • @headspacej your probably right about the loose dirt but i haven't seen a mountain biker on the trail any time in the last 4 years so i just assume no one else used it, Besides a couple of dirtbikers...And its way too dusty past the dump in summerland.

  • If you read the title you would have seen Summerland, B.C., closer to trout creek

  • Great job with the vids. All trail users need to suck it up and share/coexist and be thankful that a trail is there. It was not created by bicycles, or by indians wearing moccasins. It was created by dirtbikes, probably in the 1970's or 1960's before any of us were riding anything. Remember that there are also people that think mountain bikes are bad for the environment + tough on wildlife.

  • @timewellwastedbyme Yeah, I think you're right about the area past the dump -- we used to ride mountain bikes there too, but as it got more popular for dirt bikes, the trails turned to loose sand and dust...no fun for pedaling. It would be really disappointing to see the same thing happen in this area along Trout Creek. If just a few dirt bikers ride it, and take it easy (or better yet, stick to the double-tracks and ATV trails), it shouldn't be a problem. Great video, btw...

  • where abouts in BC - the KVR trail is long...
