Some of the motorbikes I had as a young man back in the 1970's. Was a fantastic time with great music what ever your taste was.
Starring in this video is: Suzuki GT750 Kettle 1976, My blue Honda CX500 1978 with my mate Stubba on his red CX500 photographed in London having been to the Earls Court Motorcycle show back in around 1978. My brothers little Yamaha moped, my Yamaha DT175 Trials bike and finally my Kawasaki Z650 special 1979 with a Piper 4 into 1 exhaust. Shame I never owned a video camera back then.

  • That was a 750B you had then? Mine's an M but with A lines on the tank. Anth :-)

  • @828cc I'd be shocked to find this bike still alive somewhere. Last time I saw it, was back in around 1981 ish... the chap who bought it from me, I'd switched to the CX500 by then, came with us to St Tropez, south of France with us, around 6 bikes, my old Kettle being one of them. It made it there and back too only suffering a puncture, 2000 miles round trip. Haven't seen that bike since.

I loved the 3-1 and Dunstall front mud guard... Ah! happy days !! :-)

  • You should try the owners' club or DVLA to find out if it does still exist :-)

  • @828cc I did look once on DVLA, it wasn't on a SORN and it wasn't due for tax either...

I also tried writing a letter once to DVLA in reference to tracing my old CX500 with a view to buying it back if possible.

No joy there either, they just wouldn't give anything away at all.... Confidentiality they say. HUh

  • life was simple then.............

  • Dont I know it, just didn't realise back then did we...

  • Ahh !!! Now I remember... blow me down eh?

And your still there after all these years? I so miss Allens..

Because it was where I started my working life back in August 77 I will always have a soft spot for the place.

I bet I wouldn't recognise it these days... or the people... haha

Nice story about your bike, You must send me some pics of your Kwack, I really do miss my old green one...

Im chuffed I've spoken to you... :-))
