  • the best! they got excellent interpretation, skating skills and lines. Completely agree with Capellini and Lanotte- V/M are from another planet!

  • Can't believe they didn't win the FD... they are way better than D/W. I do like D/W but these two are on a different level in terms of connection and equality of skating skills. REALLY disagree with the judges!

  • ISU recently posted on their site that they had made a calculation error, and V/M actually did win the free dance! Their overall final rank didn't change, but I'm glad to know that Tessa and Scott won the free dance. I felt that they should've, and they did! :)

  • I start to like their programs less. They seem to concentrate on difficult lifts that look half-baked and strange. I miss the flow and I particularly didn't like Tessa in this performance.

  • @danm025 True enough... I guess I was just so surprised... watching D/W back though, they are incredibly fast around the ice, and I guess there is even more of a sense of that when rink-side... so yes, the judges do have them pretty much equal.

  • @muscleboi4use They practically tied with D/W, you're acting like the judges made a clear decision that D/W were better. What I found interesting was that V/M got higher technical scores, while D/W had better program components.

  • I agree that V/M shouldve won the FD, however, keep in mind that a routine in which you act as characters is always riskier and takes longer to gain a positive impression on the judges than something like D/W's FD. I think that as V/M's FD gains a reputation, the judges will mark them higher

Also, i disagree with the SD marks. Five points for a fall makes no sense at all!

  • I agree with you muscleboi4use - they are better skaters than D&W altho' D&W program probably has more a "general" appeal, a whow factor, but that surely shouldn't affect the judging... however, it seems to.. V&M's components so difficult, yet so smooth & easy looking. Nothing is rushed, every movement, geasture, leg line is perfection. And the characterization is wonderful. Me thinks something fishy is happening with judging @ the top here ...

  • I think that their judgement in SD was totally unfair....

  • @pandacamlover I agree w/ D/W's win but V/M should have won the FD

  • they should've won the FD. They probably would've won the AA gold if Scott didn't fall in the SD. Just too bad that Davis and White beat them in the FD by .05

  • Wow. Davis and White WON both the SD and FD. Must be frustrating, especially for Scott, who rationalized all their losses to D&W as being due to Tessa's leg. But here, they are both healthy and LOST not only the competition, but BOTH segments. I guess when you overestimate your talent and under-estimate those of your competition, you end up losing. What's interesting is that V&M got all 4s on all their element, D&S got a level 3 on 1, yet won!
