Lamph - 'The Spark' (New original Christmas song!)

Merry Christmas!!!

This is a sneak preview of our 2010 Christmas song -'The Spark'. But be warned - it is a VERY ROUGH demo version! (We should really have held back and waited till we had it polished, but no... couldn't resist the temptation to upload it for Christmas! :) So hee it is in all it's unpolished glory!)

As with most Lamph uploads here, it is written by the band. We plan to record this fully & have it polished & ready to go for Xmas 2010.

This version has serious problems. Some tuning f*ck-ups, and some dodgy production (esp the overbearing oboe, and lack-of-drums!) But we still wanted to put it up for Christmas to give a taster of what is to come. Hopefully most people who hear it will be able to overlook its shortcomings and see the potential as a cool new Christmas song! :)

Hate to do SYCO in it.... its not not great... expect to see "Same Difference" pop out of the woodwork at any moment. Not sure whats letting it down more the disney vibe or the lack lustre vocal. Hey I can't hold a note myself.. so who am i to ctritcise!

But personally I love the Disney vibe, and the vocals will be much better on the final version. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.

And ur not actually being SYCO. Simon Cowell has a good ear for a commercial pop tune, he would not be as harsh as you! :P

I like the song overall. The only thing i would change would be the keyboards. Change it to a classical piano and that would give it a better sound. It would sound more like a classic christmas song. Just my opinion.
