"..."Hand In Glove". It ended with Morrissey wailing in a high pitched voice for about 20 seconds. The Smiths didn't know it at the time, but with its final line "I'll probably never see you again", "Hand In Glove" couldn't have been a better choice of final song to perform together"

  • "Hand in Glove" was not actually the final song they played together... They played "Sheila Take A Bow" (on the Tube and TOTP) for their final live performance in front of an audience.

  • @fdalkjfdsalkj Thanks for the info

  • Oh God, stop making me so murderously jealous! I'm about to throw up with envy.

I'm 17 now, and will never forgive anyone for my being born a couple of decades late for The Smiths.

  • best band best song in the history of music.

  • I remember being there and still am!!!

  • @peopletalking I feel exactly the same. For every concert I visit I think to myself: "I will never see The Smiths live". Even if I see Morrissey live...

  • I am so glad I was there, no one had a clue at the time that it would be their last gig. A truly memorable night, the best gig I have ever been to.

  • People, this was the last ever song the Smiths ever played live.

Look at Morrissey and Marr smile at each other at 3:12 . This makes me so sad.

  • first single... last song ver played by the smiths!... sad way

  • i was there too never forget that night

  • I was there with my mate. One and only time i saw them live.... Never to be equaled! I also share a birthday with the blessed Johnny Marr.......... Today!!!
