@myclicks Technique > Strength and Mass

@myclicks physics also dictates that there are other variables involved

though it seems you have some skills, i saw too much soving and attack and not enough sensing/redirection .
though you clearly did more of that then your opponent in that clip. congrat's btw

I'm a bit curious. Wouldn't you have an advantage if you have a large mass and somewhat short. So you have a a lower center of gravity?

@pixelbind Yes. Just like being stronger gives one an advantage as well. The goal is to increase your Tai Chi skill to the point where you're able to neutralize advantages like this (like actually become disadvantages over time if a person relies on them). Google or search YouTube for Black Horse Tai Chi. More videos and whatnot there.

im confused...isnt it suppose to be pushing hands? not grappling o__o dont they usually push push push then execute a push or pull at the right time? rather than go straight into a bear hug

@Belphybear There are a lot of different competitions with a lot of different rules. This one was... Hands touching (a certain way), referee says START and you're off! I personally like the rougher rule set, than the "micro managed" ones I've seen clips of on the web. This is how they do it in China/Asia and they're the ones who came up with it, so... ;)
