heyhey! (: thanks for replying. this is my other account. maybe you're right, cos' we don't have any pro oboe-ists, only 1 sec 1 and 1 sec 2. and you probably have more experience than me. ): anyways, nice to share with you: we've got goldw/honors at SYF this year! (: so thanks for the advice.

fortunately the judges liked our interpretation too and acknowledged the oboe solo for being sweet, not soft.
maybe your oboe solo was too loud instead ;D
what's important is not the dynamics, but the appropriate balance with the band.

Hey TJCSB! I'm from Hwa Chong High School Band, and we are playing this piece for SYF! (not the JC though. don't know what they're playing.) Your interpretation was brilliant, although the Oboe solo can be louder. ;D But still, wish you guys good luck for this year's SYF!

This piece is awsome were playing this exact veersion for our marching band show and i think its one of the best pieces so far

ya...wat i meant was that the recording was bad...but i cant really judge frm the audience point of view whether the 'live' version was gd...haha...but it certainly felt gd playing with the band, and it sounded gd frm where i was sitting! heh...i can see myself!!!hahaha
