  • hey what is the stuff that you put on their food to help them digest and get rid of salmonella? thanks

  • @pwalsh1051 its a probiotic, u can get it at reptileuv, com we have saved many sick reptiles with it over the years with the megaray uvb lighting too

  • I don't really agree with having to tear up food into small pieces.. No one does this for them in the wild, right? I mean, for a VERY small iggy, sure.. but, once they're a month or two of age, they have the ability to start tearing/ripping thier food apart.

  • @Trav4011 but in the wild the leaves are still attached to the plants to help them bite off pieces, plus we've found parasites in stems and the stems can hurt their gums cause their teeth are so short even as adults so its just i like to give mine the best and making up their food fresh everyday is cause i love them so much, i do anything i can to keep from having any problems start that could lead to vet care, cutting greens with a metal knife also makes them taste bitter so a tare them instead

  • My green iguana doesn't eat as much salad if I don't mix in the usual hard veggies! He loves parsnips and winter squash, which I grate both of them for him almost everyday. Occasionally, I put carrots and sweet potatoes. Yep, He doesn't like to eat plain green anymore. He's very muscular feeding on the parsnips. He loves parsnips and winter squash!

  • @Paradon yea they like a wide variety of foods and i use 3 to 7 types of greens a day, 3 to 5 type of veggies and 1 type of fruit a day, 60% greens, 30% veggies 10% fruit including treats like wheat bread, pasta :)

  • I just bought a 6 month old green iguana any tips or advice?

  • @Trav4011

Let's be realistic, they're not in the wild. Might as well not give them any veterinary care while you're at it because they don't have vets in the wild.

  • @XxlilrobertxX No butt they can eat cheese pizza

  • Excellent video! I'm a brand new iguana owner and so nervous about taking proper care of it! What is "nutribactia" you mentioned in this video? I'm obviously nit spelling it correctly as I cannot find this product. Thanks!
