Absolutely HUGE comedic talent at work here!.............from ALL THREE ACTORS! Tim Conway is such an underrated comedic genius, I can only hope that somehow, before all is said and done, he will have received the respect & recognition that someone of his BRILLIANCE truly deserves.
What I meant is...I do not think he is utilizing anything but the "name"... as there were many Father Duffy's not just the most famous of them, but thank you for advice. My Dad is a minister so I vicariously know off hand of two that were famous,.. due to my Dad also serving in WWII. But thanks again.
Father Duffy would be an Irish catholic priest advisor..."made up" of course, which is why he says its St. Patricks day as excuse, later, as an add on....

BTW- This sequence shows you just how NOT milk-toast his comedy really is. He can lay down the dirty when needed very effectively.
