How to Handle Loss, Death, Stress & Anxiety: Stillness Meditation for Relaxation

In this video, Suzanne Armistead talks about how stillness and meditation helped her to cope with the death of her son, Davis.

Grief, depression, anxiety and stress are common in our lives and can be difficult to deal with. Using stillness and intention, Suzanne learned how to calm her anxiety, anger, fatigue and sadness, and now she shares this work with others.

If we want to be happy with ourselves, to love ourselves and truly appreciate the beauty of life, it's important to relax, place intention on our physical bodies, clear the mind, quiet our thoughts and be here now. Happiness does not come from material possessions or from another person, it comes from within. We all have infitinite joy within us, and Suzanne is dedicated to helping others discover their joy as she has.

  • And she stumbled upon it by herself?

I had to get it from a book. "the power of now".

  • @NowisEvollovetion Cont.

In other words, the more we allow our minds to wander aimlessly, the more we lose control of them, and as a consequence 'suffer more' at the hands of them.

So, the less you think, the less you suffer.

Now of course intelligent individuals do not enjoy suffering, so they think very little.

Animals on the other hand are 'purely instinctive', they react to situations in a pre prescribed manner and as such do not need to reason (or think).

    Best wishes

  • @DRsocialist1984 It does make 'sense' if only you would open your eyes and 'look' around you.

There are essentially two types of thinking, one VALID type that results in action (using only the 'facts' that which you know from your 'own experience' will result in a successful conclusion) and the other is the useless/undiciplined type.

It is the 'undicplined thinking' that is the problem.

For what is 'worry' if not merely undiciplined thinking?

  • Says who, care to elaborate. How can that possibly make sense. You can't gain and use knowledge without thinking, and not thinking is what animals do.

  • I hadn't noticed the bg was windows xp until some nerds pointed it out.

  • everything's always speeding up, that's a great point we need to focus on the slowing down and feel the stillness in order to remain at an equilibrium. im very sorry for the loss of your son, but you've found your purpose by helping all of us. thank you for this video:)

  • In truth, thinking is NOT intelligent, NOT THINKING is intelligent.

But as this 'world of ignorance/selfishness' (look around you) was in fact created by the ignorance performing within us, what is put forward as the truth, is in fact the very opposite of it.
