Never-before-seen footage of Michael Jackson's awful Pepsi commercial accident, filmed in L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium on January 27, 1984, has been released.

The Us Weekly clip shows one take where the singer's pyrotechnics exploded as planned - after Michael Jackson descended the stairs and began performing.

On the sixth take, fireworks erupted too early, igniting the singer's head in flames. Jackson was at first unaware he was on fire, and continued dancing.

Many say he was never the same after the accident, during which he suffered second and third-degree burns on his scalp and body, and after which some believe he developed an addiction to painkillers and an obsession with plastic surgery.

His drug addiction ever since that day has been well documented, and has become the focal point of a DEA and LAPD investigation into who supplied the singer with the dangerous substances that may have contributed to his demise.
