A gay asylum seeker from the Islamic Republic of Iran decides to take desperate measures when his application for asylum is refused.
A longer cut of the Channel 4, 3-minute wonder episode, Don't Hate Me Because I'm An Asylum Seeker. This one has the poor guy flinging himself off London's Hungerford Bridge! It premiered at Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.
Featuring Gholmreza Shahmohammadi, produced by Bruce Melhuish and Kaleem Aftab and directed by Jesse Lawrence and Cristian Solimeno for la famiglia films.

  • Ha ha, there is a story to this - the short story being that he insisted I film him in his attempt. of course i refused but when the police phoned me requesting i come down to Hungerford Bridge to persuade him to climb down I thought, "what the hell? might as well bring the camera as well..."

  • This is a good documentary but I am confused about the ending. How come you managed to film him attempt suicide?
