KTLA on the Street: California State Budget Crisis

KTLA gets reaction to Governor Schwarzenegger's executive order to cut 10,000 state jobs and reduce 200,000 state worker's pay to $6.55/hr, the federal minimum wage. (The executive order was rejected.) KTLA also gets reaction on the governor's proposed one cent increase in sales tax.

Either raise taxes, cut spending or do both. Unfortunately people love spending cuts unless it starts affecting them. The same can also be said of tax increases. Either way it has to happen

Unions and workers who do not pay taxes are killing California. Period. The job market is tough in ALL industries...why should state employees get special treatment? If you are asked to take a 10% pay cut or lose your job, take the damn cut and be thankful you have a job! Your average worker for any tech company doesn't even get the choice.

My solution, move back to TX. & take my private industry upper 25% CA state 9.3% tax bracket elsewhere. I am actually getting out June1st SOOO happy!
