Here is my Petter A1 from about 1948 after i first got it running. As you can see, I had not cleaned out the fuel tank yet, and so it is running on a temporary one!!

  • 4 stroke or 2 stroke?

  • 4 stroke. It was made in about 1948 i think, but i am not entirely sure. It is 470cc and churns out 3bhp at 1500rpm!!

  • what what what??? 1500rpm?? lol thats terrable! i thought my vintage moped at 3500rpms was bad for a 2 stroke!! at 3bhp thats impractical?

  • Ha ha, Mine is the racing version!! The other models churned out either 2bhp at 1000rpm or 1.5bhp at 750rpm depending on which one you had!!!!

  • we had one of these on a blacksmith built hedge cutter ,finger bar cutter on wrought irin frame ,3 gears ,and had to slip the belt to the slip pulley to take out of drive ,usually if it hit somthing stubborn it would just turn into the hedge and go through it if you wasnt quick moving the belt ,built the world these engines
