Issued in Canada December 1974 on Columbia C4-4069.

Myles Cohen and Lenny Solomon got together in high school in Toronto in 1969. They made recordings for GRT in 1972, and by 1974 had signed with Columbia, releasing this single, following in early 1975 with their self-titled album. Musicians included their performing group, Saul Keshen on bass and Brian Leonard on drums. They employed the help of many of the best session players and singers in Toronto: their production team of Mickey Erbe (bass) and Maribeth Solomon (keyboards, flute), and including noted names Brian Russell, Laurel Ward, and others.

This single made #19 nationally in Canada, earning them several awards, including a Juno for Best Group of 1975.

Both are still performing, although not together since 1976. Once you've heard the haunting strains of Lenny Solomon's violin on this record, it's impossible to forget.

  • This song had such an affect on me, growing up in Toronto and in Jr. high school when it came out.

Has it ever been released on CD?

I was in first violin in the orchestra when this passionate arrangement dominated the CDN airwaves.

  • No, it has never been reissued in any form as of 2009. Most of the Canadian records you know from your childhood have never been reissued on CD, and likely never will be...

  • OH MY GOD!!!! Thank you. Do you have any more from the Myles & Lenny album?

  • I have dozens of thousands of records, so you can imagine I've been in a LOT of record stores, thrift shops and the like. I have never seen an album by Myles & Lenny, and I fear I may never be so lucky, especially since now I live 1200 miles from the nearest person who has heard of them.

  • My dad still has their albums =) It was great to hear this song again, reminds me of when I was a kid. Nice upload!

  • Thanks!

  • Thankyou and AMAZING sound quality!!

  • Thanks to M&L for such a terrific song. It was a pleasure to have this great Canadian song with awesome production on our playlist at CFGO (The GO/14), Ottawa, Ontario.

  • @Kikaiota try a seach for a youtube to mp3 converter on the net. I spent, what, 30 years trying to find this. I've even offered to buy it from radio stations with no luck.

  • Man, this is a great memory. Thanks. This song could be released today, with a little updating.

  • @mojofilter02 Still remember seeing them at Waterloo Luthern College opening the show for Gentle Giant. They were great. Terry - Hagersville.

  • Thanks. This is the first record I bought as a kid.

  • I've always loved this awesome song! I just never heard it on the radio for about a 15 year span and I was practically salivating for it. A few years ago I was doing a bit of work in Yellowknife and mentioned it to my friends: "You know what song I haven't heard..." and there it was on the radio. I didn't even get to finish my sentence. There it was as if it was the most normal thing in the world to hear it. Man I'd love to get the record.

  • I tried to find their album so I could add it to my music but couldn't find it. I didn't realize it wasn't put on CD. Sure was nice to hear this song again. Thank you.

  • @TuneblendR This particular song and some other old Canadian favourites can be found in a collection of Cds called "Only In Canada Our Rock N Roll History". This song is on the 10th Cd of the 10 volume set. The Cds are hard to find but they sometimes show up on ebay for about 15$ each.
