This interview with legendary film director Werner Herzog is excerpted from his appearance at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, New York on June 4, 2008, following a screening of his new film "Encounters at the End of the World." The interview was conducted by New York Times critic Janet Maslin.
