01043 Spanish Lesson - Present tense: querer

Hola. In this video lesson we're going to cover the stem-changing verb "querer" (to want) in Spanish. Note, querer can also mean 'to love' when used with people or pets.
Ex: Yo quiero a mis padres. (I love my parents)

hola! why is jugar al beisbol and not jugar el beisbol?? we don't have a + el = al only if we have before the verb ir? thanks!

Great question. Whenever there is an "a" and an "el" (unless it's él or the part of a title) we will combine the two to form "al".

It appears as though the preferred construction of play sports is jugar + a + sport... some people don't use the "a" at all while others do.

@GurlzAloudAfia My SPanish teacher used to say you have to say verb conjugations in your head whilst brushing your teeth every day. (in you head very important, sink might get quite messy otherwise! :P)
