Haha. My mare does this when I scratch her rump. It's nice to know I'm not the only horse owner to scratch there. Lol It was found completely by accident. We though she was pregnant and I happened to touch there to lean over to check her bag, and she lifted her tail just slightly. So I scratched. Too cute.

Generally when a horse demands scratching around the tail area, it could indicate the need to be wormed or has a skin allergy/condition, or of course, just likes being scratched.
