Thank you very much for this. If I just use the cast ons and then just join like that there will be no sewing needed? I am just curious, I finally found some circular knitting needles at a thrift store today and trying to learn this. Thank you for getting straight to the point I like these kinds of tutorials for something really simple just to learn a new way to knit.

I think the question is if knitting in the round requires any sewing? The answer is both no and yes: If your finished project is an open tube, like a cowl or a sweater, knitting in the round means you won't have to sew any seams. However, you'll still need to weave in the ends of the yarn at the bind off and cast on edge. Glad this video could help you!

If you work a few row before joining in the round wouldn't that leave a slit in your work?

Cast-ons like the Tubular/Italian Caston are a little more challenging for me so it would be ideal if I could start from a pair of straight needle, do at least one round and then move to a circular set. Then again, would that not leave a split in the work?

    Hi there!

There will be a small seam to sew when you're done, but it can be made

with the tail of yarn from the cast on edge. You'd have to weave it in

any way, so it's no more trouble to sew a small seam with it.
