When I see this series I think of Mark Twain's remark about the difference between the right word and the wrong word being the same as the difference between lightning and the lightning bug. That's the same difference between I LOVE LUCY and this series, typical sitcom fare, whereas I LOVE LUCY was at an extraordinarily high level of invention and inspiration, never equaled in TV history, except intermittently by THE HONEYMOONERS.
