Les Brown - "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm (Psapp's Lady Remix")

From 2005's 'Merry Mixmas,' a wonderful collection of old jazz and big band holiday tunes slung into hip remixes, this is perhaps the underrated gem of the collection. Originally the instrumental title track from Les Brown and His Band of Renown's 1955 album, London electronica duo Psapp work wonders with it, adding a warm and smoky vocal by an unnamed female singer, singing lovely lyrics I've never heard anywhere else before, with a gently snappy beat and sound effects that subtly suggest drinks being made. It's deliriously fun, and when it blooms into the climax, it's just perfection. And a damned fine foxtrot, at that.
