My 1992 Volvo 240 wagon bendin' and swayin' on the autocross track. This is the first event of the 2007 season for South Jersey Region SCCA. So much more fun in this than somethin built for the track :)

  • Good stuff. If you dont think these are sporty cars, look up "f cup finland rally" and watch how many 240's you see.

  • lol i like that: the mean green brick!!!!

  • 240grupp-aDOTse

  • people underestimate the Volvos... i've autocrossed my moms 1993 Volvo 240GL Wagon, and i've beaten cars people adore as sportscars, like Skyline and Supra.

If YouTube allowed links, i could have linked to the laptimes to show what Volvo's can do, there are other Volvos faster than me again too, i'm not a great driver, it's more common to use them here in Europe.

  • Grocery-getter racing is gay.

  • considering the weight of these they handle great. no question

  • The real "Green Brick" is a '69 Valiant- clocked @167, uphill, on the back stretch of Watkins Glen. Owned by a guy in New York named Rick Ehrenberg. It is one badass granny-mobile and cockroach tough. Like a well-built Volvo!

  • Makes me miss my '88 244GL. Damn that thing handled like a tank, went through almost anything, and was easy as hell to fix until she got t-boned and totaled out.

  • Actually the 240 I have has alot more power I forgot to mention that its a turbo car.

But I know what you mean and you're right about that.

  • So you're saying your 760 understeered then. That is mostly likely because it is rear-wheel drive with the extra power of the turbo, which the 240 doesn't have. When both cars are actually gripping the road, the 740/760/940 handle a lot better. They don't lean as much in turns and in my opinion feel much more stable because of the wider track.
