The honest truth? I like Viletta as a pilot better, and she's the "canon" pilot. I think Mai is technically more effective, but I found her more useful in another unit and letting Viletta provide the SP for HTB Cannon. Plus, in the wake of OGG, where Viletta is the default pilot, it seemed to make more sense to me.

so, lets see, first, Axel gets nailed by a giant laser that sends him into the sun, only to get cleaved by Sanger and Ratsel, only to then get smashed by Rampage Ghost. Geez, this is beyond any sort of overkill.

I never really noticed much of a difference between using Viletta and Mai for HTB Cannon, it's destruction output seemed pretty much the same to me.
