@mediate27 in some cultures they do it and it turns out OK. The cord dries up regardless of how you bathe them. Also, self-righteousness is derived from a sense that one's beliefs, actions, or affiliations are of greater virtue than those of the average person. Thanks for the lesson, though. :)

@thevelvetfog777 Will you think it's cute when the baby gets an infection? It's safe to submerge the infant only AFTER the chord has fallen off. You have no clue as to how weak an infant's immune system is during the first six weeks of life. Aside from the umbilical chord, let's say the child had a bowel movement. Bacteria from the intestine travels quickly in warm water and can reach the urinary tract in seconds, causing more harm. Do us all a favor, think before you speak and don't ever breed.

@mediate27 Yeah, because it'll just stay there for the rest of her life. Do you know anyone who still has their cord attached? Sheesh! I wish people would stop being so self-righteous and enjoy a cute video.

You're supposed to wait until the cord falls off before you submerge the baby in water. How else is it supposed to dry up?
