Malian pop-duo and African superstars, Amadou & Mariam, became World Food Programme's Ambassadors Against Hunger in 2010. They have dedicated this song, "Labendela", to raise awareness in Europe about the global hunger challenge. "Labendela" means "Children Are The Future". Mariam explains, "the meaning of the song is very important. We have to fight hunger in the world and we have to hold one another's hand. Hand in hand, we can feed the children and women too." The song will be available on iTunes on 17 October and part of the funds generated from the sale will go towards feeding a child.
