Absolutely BRILLIANT! Love it.

The Tilt shift look is applied by using a tilt shift lense that exaggerates foreground and background perspective to trick your eye into thinking everything is really small. The effect can also be applied after a shot has been taken in photoshop etc, but this usually results in something less sophisticated. Shooting timelapse also adds to the effect.
