Please Don't Pop the Creepy Balloon Bird

Does anyone know what happened to my baby cockatiel? I'm guessing parent pecked the crop and it filled with air. This is creepy!

I have never seen that before. I tried researching but I found nothing. I think that maybe the baby bird got filled with air and the air went to different place but that much air? It could also be that maybe the baby bird was lieing dead for many hours and the body began too... Idk what u call it but anyways.. im sorry for ur lost...

@Parakeetluv Thank you...it was really sad, and I feel terrible for the little guy. I noticed a small blood spot in the crop, and I think that the parent bit him or accidentally punctured it while feeding him, and that it filled up with air. The vet had never seen anything like it before either. I did some research online later though, and read that the crop can fill with air if punctured.

Hey, i have same problem only my baby bird is still alive! His parents didnt feed him and i had to take him under my wing. Now when i feed him his crop's just getting bigger and more air is in the crop. Im so desperate and sad!

@classyladybecca I think thats why... I am glad u went to the vet to ask. That shows me that u worry about ur animals and take good care of them. It reminds me of a crime scene, the detective always wants to know what happened even if the person is dead. U did the same with the bird, u went and researched even though it past away.
