CrossHead - fire in my head.mpg

Crosshead was founded 2005 by Ralph Margotte (lead vocal and guitar) and Tobias Paesch (drums). Both felt the urge, after a long time without their own band, to re-produce their beloved Trash Metal in a new special and individual way. After a few month in the practice room - bass guitarist Ralf Deling also joined the crew - the first songs were written and in the end of 2006 the first few small gigs followed.
It was noticed very quickly, that bands timing and complex arrangement was just right to set a new milestone.
Although a "one guitar band" was very unusual for the Metal Scene they still managed to create a well balanced, unique and powerful new "old school Trash" sound with their great team spirit and enthusiasm and the band decided to publish a live recording as their first demo CD and they self produced 100 copies which were sold out only after 6 live gigs.
In 2008 they produced their first studio album (...when the gotchaman comes) which also was a self production and sold out in a very short space of time.
In the end of 2008 the band was mixed by Jochen Pelser (ex Grind inc. Ex Hatefactor) at an Open Air Concert and Jochen loved their music so much, that he spontaneously offered to play the 2nd guitar.
After one practice session it was clear that Jochen just fitted perfectly into the band and CrossHead's final lineup was completed.
In 2009 CossHead practiced lot and played more live gigs and in 2010 the first externally produced studio and current album "Evil in Return" was born and published on the 1st of January 2011 - to be purchased on ITunes, Amazon and Napster ;) .
Highlights so far: "High 8 Festival" - interlude for Rock am Ring in 2008, support act for Hatesphere (DK) and Pro-Pain (US) in 2010, they were one of 5 finalists in the "Wacken Metal Battle Germany Final 2011" (April 2011) - 1st price was to paly at Wacken Festival but unfortunately they just missed out on the 1st , they also played at the "RAGE AGAINST RACISM Festival Warm Up Show" (May 2011), the NRW Underground Metal Festival in Krefeld (June 2011), they quite recently opened up very successfully the Dong Open Air 2011 Festival (July 2011) on a THURSDAY! evening -- playing amongst other bands like Over Kill, Hatesphere, The Rotted, Evile, Iced Earth and lots more) and at the end of August they even played on a special private living room party session for one of their friends in Krefeld-Fischeln (August 2011) :) .
