This is my tutorial on how to remove the shortcut arrows on shortcuts icons on your desktop, for Windows 7 and Vista.

Steps :
1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTlnkfile
3. Delete the IsShortcut registry value (continue until all of them are deleted)

  • @CityHunter84 there is no point, its just there to show u that it is a shortcut.

  • @CityHunter84 its also showing the computer its a short cut to original file after you delete this you may not be able to pin stuff to the task-bar since i think it uses those little icons for help this happened to be by the way can you tell me if this happened to you

    3.find 'lnkfile'

    4. Delete the IsShortcut registry value (1 time only)

    5. Restart

    no need to search all
