  • beautiful. a masterpiece! Incredibly sad

  • A true performer. Even a continuous close-up of 4 minutes long keeps exciting.

  • @PlayerOPS: @MrKotzdoch: Most of Western knowledge is German anyway. The physics we know today was once called German physics. "Modern geography" was started by a German called Ritter. Modern pharmaceuticals (unfortunately) are almost all German in origin. The first computers were made by a German in Germany (and in America, by descendants of the Teutonic race). Die Sprache des Dichtern und Denkern nimmer gestorben werden!

  • The most touching Schubert-Lied, the most sparking Fischer-Dieskau performance, in fact, the best thing on YouTube I've ever viewed. This is the human face and the human voice in concert; the human voice in perfect concert with a master-intention; German Control und German Restraint in perfect sync with Über-powerful German Feeling und Resignation. Few things in the world are so "comprehensive" as this one performance. Maybe it's my inner SS speaking, but it's wunderbar herrlich anyway :-)

  • @MrKotzdoch The language German will not get extinguished, because you buy German cars e.g. Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche and you will use German scientific innovations e.g. nuclear fission.

  • פסגה - היצירה וביצועה כאחת.

  • I don't have words to express how moving this is. Both DFD and Brendel are incomparable here. I can't imagine a more perfect, more poignant performance. Thank you for sharing it.

  • The movie "In Bruges" brought me to this haunting, beautiful piece.

  • @shantanudas practically the only thing i listen to along with Asian pop, classical, and jazz

  • NPR Rocks! Haunting song...
