the real scary aspect is the illusion that this garbage replaces face to face skills and its "better". Instead its a distorted feeling of empowerment, made possible a hypersterile digital environment. Its not so much a fad as it is a fantasy about changing the world.

A fad? No way.
Look at all the footage coming out of Iran. With out social media only 20 dudes from Iowa & old lady Gretchin from down the street would even care to know becuase it would just be a small little paragraph about in the middle of the news paper.

Could you please post all your information and statistics sources? Also why does it matter if people are more into social networking? When it comes down to it, its just people on social sites talking to there friends. Also only 43% of the world has access to the internet...

I dont think Social media is a fad , Infact Because of social media , there is a lot of change in the world , sites like ezdia , bring the social and professional world together by giving the freelancing touch to social network
