Chris..I could completely feel your vibe..it's what I do on my keyboard..with the lights out, just going with it. I could have played along with your harp...I'm not the best pianist but on a keyboard I can get so into a real jazzy vibe like this. It simply renews my belief that Todd is brilliant and SUCH a good musician...Shawn is the kind of guitarist who can play any style, any speed, anything he wants...loved hearing Jason yell in the background when it got really good. Loved this!

Nah..don't go bury your harps...just get away from the 'always have to play trad blues' mode and just close your eyes and let loose..the way Chris and New Blood did here...it's how Jason and the Band play more often than not..when Shawn does one of his amazing solos...Todd can play anything 'funky' or jazz oriented..and now with Ed along, they'll have even more of a 'jazz' vibe. THIS is what improv is all about. Wonderful..isn't it?

Thanks for all of the comments guys!! This tune is in G and I played using a C harp - yeah 2nd position...the one I don't like. LOL
this is not a real tune, I just told the Buckweed to play something cool and groovy in G. Then I told Ron the drummer to pretend he's playing in a smooth jazz group and play what comes to him. I told Starski 4 bars of Gm 2 bars of Bb7 and then back to the G for 2 bars. I walked up to the mic and srated playing whatever.
