  • did your director cut out the part where tommy sings "i saw a man with his head bowed low..."?? because i think that it's an extremly important part of the song.

  • @tayloroleson yeah the verse that's cut was intentionally cut by the director - read the comments below, i think we already discussed it =]

  • Holy crap! How good are you?!?!? I'm so glad you commented on my Sondheim video! You need to upload more stuff man. I can't believe you were in high school! I'll stop fawning now.

  • thanks! freshman in college now, so that was only a couple of years ago. i appreciate the compliments :)

  • somebody needs to instruct them what to do with their hands

    real nice voice, however!

  • thanks! :)

no you're totally justified, i agree one hundred percent, and while my director in high school was really good, it was the little details like that that he was less concerned about, so what can ya do? :)

  • you sound great man!! i'm tommy in my production coming up in a couple weeks.

hahaha but im just saying... it doesnt make sense for fiona to say "there but for you go i" because tommy is saying that he loves her and that the only reason he is staying is because of her. and, i agree i wouldve liked to hear you sing more!!!

  • thanks

  • Your director is making a judgment call against Lerner and Loewe. This is a beautiful song, and the form is distorted if you have the bridge after only one verse...speaking from an audience perspective, I would not have been bored to hear you sing the whole thing.

  • my director tends to think that ballads bore the audience so he likes to keep them short.

    thanks so much everyone!! =]
