Oh yeah ! You did a great gameplay of this. This game is extremely dificult ! Thanks to you I could see more than the second stage. I have to practice more on this ! The soundtrack is absolutely awesome.

@malducci it was likely an addon. The Duo was the first self contained unit... But I know the first CD ROM console games came before the PC Engine CD did in '88 and it wasn't very common at all.... But what the heck was it??
-
@Serraxor As an all-in-one self contained CD based game system or via addon? I can't think of anything either that predates the Japanese Duo. (Original CD addon for PC-Engine was 1988)
-
@malducci There was something before the turbo duo though... i forget what it is, for the life of me, I can't remember (O_O)

@Serraxor FM Towns is a computer. FM Towns 'Marty' is the... console package of that, if you will, like the Amiga CD32 or whatever. The Marty came out in 1993. So If you mean all-in-one complete systems, the PC-Engine Duo model came out in '1991 in Japan. So if you're ignoring addons, that (the Duo) would be the first self contained CD based game system AFAIK.

Looks a fantastic game on a system I can only dream of owning. Great video.

Game looks pretty classy.
Lukemorse1 uploaded a video of this ages ago. Glad to finally see a gameplay video of great quality :)

@Soukyugurentai Thanks. I do need to get an upgrade on my capture card though, I'm not really happy with the quality, it seems to have degraded over time.

If I'm not mistaken, I think FM Towns created the first ever CD ROM game console. Not sure if it was the Marty or not, but it had to be one of the first.
I've never seen FM Towns Marty footage until now, good stuff, man!

@Serraxor Well, there's info mentioning the FM Towns Marty as the first 32-bit console. I'd have to check it further, but if you don't consider 16-bit CD add-ons then I guess it qualifies as the first CD ROM game console. :)
