This is a video showing my bowling form and style from 2007 all the way through april 2009. I worked on changing a lot in my game such as switching to a 5 step approach, standing more upright, closing and controlling my swing path, clearing my slide leg, and an infinite number of changes in my release. I still have a small issue with drifting left to right but for the most part I'm happy with where I am at. The most recent video clips come after months of practice as well as doing video analysis on myself. I have tried to base my approach off of two amazing bowlers and video of them:

Diandra Asbaty 5 Step Approach:

Tommy Jones (Style in general)

Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks man, I appreciate the comments. You're absolutely right about my late timing, it's part of what I've been working on. I'm also working on turning that 4th step into a "drive" step, so you've got my game spot on! Thanks again!

  • thanks for the comment! I couldn't agree more. And yes I did used to have a 4 step approach. The problem I have is when I get my push away started on my second step the ball gets into the swing so early that I feel like I'm running to the line to catch up with it. I guess it just feels different because I'm not used to it but it's definitely a piece of my game that I'm continuing to work on. Thanks for the feedback!

  • paydirt is spot on, your timing is one step late for a 5-step approach. the ball should be moving in time with your second step. did you previously use a 4-step approach? that's what it looks like to me, 4-step timing with a 5th step.

get the ball moving in time with your second step and left everything flow.

i always see moronic comments by people who know nothing about this game. it's nice to finally see someone post a comment who knows what he's talking about besides myself.
