This is my twin brother, Ichinisan/jevansturner, playing GHIII on the PC for the 3rd time with the Wii Guitar displayed on the Sony KDL-52XBR2 @1080p.

This isn't a skill demonstration, so ignore the performance unless you just want to see it work. He's still getting used to the latency it introduces (he didn't calibrate) and the 2 phones ringing didn't help him focus any. He's only been playing a few weeks on and off.

This motherboard's DTS Connect feature is a good way to one-up the Wii version's current lack of a fix, replacement, or work-around for DPLII surround-sound, though I'm not really set up for it at the moment.

Using GlovePIE, we only just got it working so we haven't finished the parts of the script for supporting tilt, but that'll be easy ("-" button for now). The whammy bar will be better once we figure out how to smoothen the mouse mapping. There's no support for the Wii-exclusive speaker and rumble, though I'd expect the Guitar Hero clones to add this soon. The recent Wii homebrew hack seems to have helped make sense of the Wii's disc format, so importing from the Wii disc may be the next big thing.

One problem is that the PC version always defaults to "Leftie Flip" when there is no X-plorer guitar connected due to the default KBM config.

It's paired with some Bluetooth adapter that was included with a MS Wireless Presenter Mouse. It functioned as a proprietary USB wireless mouse at first, but it was easy enough to download and configure the right Bluetooth stack to get this going. At least this way it was easy to find 64-bit drivers!

PC specs:
Antec 900 -this gawdy case grew on me
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 -CPU
Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus -motherboard
XFX nVidia 8800GT SLI -video; SLI disabled
4GB Crucial 800MHz DDR2 -memory
500GB -hard drive; game & OS installed here
2TB RAID0 -transitioning to this
Daemon-Tools -image drive; loads super-fast!
Nintendo Wii Remote -input; DUH
Red Octane Gibson Les Paul -controller; Wii version

YouTube user "mrbellek" has made a nice GlovePIE script with tilt, rumble, and more:

Be sure to thank him for it!

  • can i play guitar hero pc with ps3 guitar ?

  • Is there any way of playing Co-Op play?

  • @gabrocki Well, the USB Bluetooth dongles are usually under $10 if you don't have it built-in.

  • @CZroe no, i dont have any, thats for sure. i was looking for it someday cause i needed it but no..:(

  • @gabrocki Bluetooth is very useful in a PC so it isn't always an unnecessary expense. You may already have it and not know it. You can use it to pair phones, headsets, wireless mice and keyboards (dongle-free!), game controllers, and more. In fact, some wireless mouse and keyboard sets are Bluetooth and the dongle is just a Bluetooth adapter. I use it in my M11x notebook for my Razer Orochi mouse, iPhone 4 (Internet tethering), wireless headphones w/remote, and more.

  • @CZroe i wouldnt needan xplorer... and i wont spend unnecessary money on plugin stuff and all that..

  • @hiws1 And I posted the video years ago. Also, answers are for everyone's sake. It's why these conversations aren't held via private message. :)

  • @CZroe lol i wrote that comment 11 month ago.. -.-

  • @jblast111 Bought the game on Wii. The guitars are also sold separately.

  • @hiws1 Uhh... yeah. That's the only way to pair it. It's in the description!
