Envy - Awaken Eyes

Envy is one of the largest independent bands in Japan. They've been together for over a decade, and are still writing music and releasing albums. This video was taken on the last date of their Japan tour with Switzerland's Iscariote. The date is August 31, 2002. The location is Shinjuku Anti-Knock, in Tokyo. The other bands playing that night were Kulara, There is a Light That Never Goes Out, Nine Days Wonder, and Iscariote. You can buy their releases here:

In my opinion "emo" isn't a genre of music, its a sub-culture. There are already genres for all the music that these supposed "emo" bands are making. if they change up the sound a little bit and have something different it doesn't warrant the invention of a new genre.
