I am puzzled, why are there all the pictures of Christmas trees and no pictures of menoras?
After all, it's a Chanukah song...
-
@crazyfashiondoll Ladino. Hebrew & Spanish.

@crazyfashiondoll This is a Jewish-Spanish language called "Ladino" that originated in the 1400's made by Jewish people in Spain. It's almost a lost language now.
-
@crazyfashiondoll It is Ladino. Ladino is the language of the Sephardics, jewish people from Spain. They were exiled out of Spain just before the discovery of America (the continent). It is a very ancient Spanish, from the times of the Spanish colony. And the song celebrates Hanukkah.

what language is this? i hear spanish, but some of it is not spanish
I love that song no matter what the lyrics r talking about. I love the pink martini album "Joy to the world" and given that all the songs are talking about xmas, I supposed it was a Christmas song. So, m really sorry about the inconsistency btw lyrics and images :(
