Special Guests Mr. Acker Bilk cl and Henry Chaix p
The Harlem Ramblers Dixieland Jazzband from Zurich, Switzerland was founded in 1955, and, after various changes, settled down in 1969 to a well knit group. The band members were Guenter Sellenath (Tp), Tabis Bachmann (Cl), Thedy Schuetz (Tb), Chris Mitchell (Bj), John Treichler (B), and Gerry Ceccaroni (Dr).
The band is still going strong with the hard core of Guenter, Thedy, Chris, and Gerry. The newest members are Hans Schlaepfer on Bass since 2002, and since 2005, Wastl Berger, Clarinet and Saxophone. For more information, please visit the Homepage. www.harlemramblers.ch
♦Excellent Qualiity with a good orchestral backing. I'm trying to trace what model of clarinet and technique Acker uses - it sounds unique, very mellow

Who's the idiot that put a dislike? He's got no soul! This is brilliant Trad Jazz performed by people who dedicate their life and career to the music. Acker would probably have done this performance for a couple of pints of Cider rather than cash, he's a dedicated jazz man.

How could anyone in their right mind put down that they dislike this greater than great music. Where is their head.? I guess that we all know.

Great video, brings the memories flooding back! Can anyone tell me if Ackers early work - late 50's to 60's - is available on cd? I still have the original EP's and singles etc but they're pretty scratched up now

Fine video, thanks. The Pino solo is also great... one can certainly hear that Henri Chaix had taken piano lessons with Willie "The Lion" Smith. ;-)
