Which leaves one to wonder why these aren't also in .38 Super, rather than in a cartridge the 1911 hasn't been chambered in before or since. I was under the impression that .38 Super was relatively available in Europe, on account of for example the Spanish making their 9mm Largo Astra 400 pistols capable of also using .38 Super.

I have one, must be one of the 100, in 100% condition. With 400 rounds of ammo. It doesnt feel as refined as the 38 super when you shoot it.

Another great 1911! I'll never get tired of looking at them. Thanks.

I've seen several 1911's in .38 Super, but never in 9mm Steyr. Interestingly enough, I've seen several Steyr pistols. As usual, I learned something new today!

@gaintwist32 It's amazing how many different varients there are. Thanks for watching!
Thats a beautiful pistol! Its was weird that that round came about, but back then all kinds of round changes were happening, There is a lot of interesting info on 9mm's at "9mm Cartridges of the World: Past and Present" Thanks for the great look at that peice of history, keep them coming!!!
