This takes me back to 1955 when I was 16 and I first heard this song, it drove me crazzzzy! Loved then and love it now! I would drive around in my first car, a 1946 Oldsmobile all of the time and listen to all of this almost 'rockabilly.' I went to Abraham Lincoln High School in N/E Philadelphia.

I'm 19, and I swear I was born in the wrong era. This is true music right here <3 Long live the king.

I recently heard the new Chris Isaac version of this song and could not remember where I had heard it before. Now I know why.....it was so long ago! Chris does a great job of it, along with a lot of other oldies. I going to buy the CD. Called "Beyond the Sun." Referring to Sun Records.

what a song, what a voice, Elvis we love you forever
-
beautiful treatment of this song Elvis' last Sun record and also issued by RCA after the contract was in affect The sparseness of the accompanyment and Elvis' obvious feelings which he so unaffectedly put into all his early recordings Not to negate any of the magic of later records Even when drugs took more and more of a hold on Elvis he still managed to put out some classics Vaya Con Dios Elvis Aron and Jesse Garon

Elvis frequently sang this song on the Louisiana Hayride. t is available on The Complete Sun Sessions, A Date With Elvis, Great Country Songs, The King of Rock 'n' Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, and 2nd to None, which is where this version is from.

Written by Stanley Kesler and Charlie Feathers. Elvis recorded it in July 1955 at Sun Records with Scotty Moore and Bill Black and Johnny Bernero on drums. It reached #1 for 5 weeks on Billboard's Country Juke Box chart and #1 for 2 weeks on the Country Best-Seller chart, remaining on the chart for 39 weeks, the longest of any Elvis single release on any Billboard chart. It was the B-side to Mystery Train.
