Many glassmakers have created pseudo-idols - the sorts of household god figures that ancient peoples or primitive tribes might have made offerings to. This, I think, is in that tradition. With its red face and spreading headgear I assume it to be a sun god.

This is labelled but the label is no longer legible. The size and shape of the label suggests it was made by Swedish firm, Hovmantorp, who never used engraved signatures on their mid-century work.

Height: 12 cm (4.75 inches)
Width: 11 cm
Weight: 405 g
Condition: very light wear to the base, heavy wear to the label, a 2 cm line from manufacture to the back, two or three 1mm and less unintended bubbles, two scuffs to the front of the base (0.5mmx1.7cm and 0.5mmx1.9cm)
