My chocolate Labs freak out whenever we get a package because all they want to do is shred the bubble wrap in the box. This is what happens every time we have bubble wrap in the house with our dogs.

  • Do you think that a lab is good for people who prefer small and medium dog's cause i love the labs so much i was offered one free by a friend and i want him soooooo bad i am either calling her dackota or shadow depending on the color and gender how do you think i should get my parents to get him i really love them and want him but my parents are freaked out about big dogs how do you think i can get them to conciter the larger dogs

  • If your parents are not into big dogs and you live with your parents, you should not get a Lab. Labrador Retrievers are a lot of work to train, have a great deal of energy and vet bills can get very expensive for things they ingest (that they shouldn't) and hip and eye problems. They want to be with you all the time and need all the attention you can give.

I would recommend waiting until you have a place of your own with a large yard and have the time, energy and money to devote to a Lab.

  • i know i should wait but i know a lab is the right dog for us ive wanted one since i was 12 and i havent been able to pay for them and now one is free and i know the family do you think it's possible my parents will change there minds :(

  • If you cannot afford to purchase a Lab from a breeder, then you cannot afford to keep them. Vet bills can rang from a couple of hundred dollars a year to thousands of dollars. Then there is dog food - which Labs are generally allergic to commercial brands so you would be spending another $40 every few weeks. Then there are toys, dog licenses, bedding, flea/tick treatments, joint supplements, heart worm medication, & so on. Please don't get a Lab until you are financially secure and on your own.

  • We can't even open delivery boxes anymore without them having to see if there is any bubble wrap in the box. LOL

  • both are beautiful dogs (although I prefer the british over american) my choc winston, is the same way, so inquisitve over everything, only thing that makes him become a coward is the smoke alarm ( which I guess is a good thing) cause if he hears it go off, he runs to be near a person, for protection, not to be protected lol

  • your house looks soclean, god i have clumps of hair everywhere, i know there short haired dogs, i brush them every other day, you should see my pool when there done swimming, my husband doesnt want them in the pool, but, hey, there hot too, i have too spoil them, i love them, they wont be here forever,so i want to make there life as enjoyable as possible

  • they're sooooo cute!!!!!! I have a BLACK lab LOLZ!!! my lab is 2 lazy 2 play w/ bubble wrap!!
