"Good." He smiled, and took my hand. We walked onto his patio, and sat on the bench. "Wanna go out tonight?" He looked at me, and I felt something in my stomach twitch as his eyes melted my heart.
"Of course." I answered after a minute, and felt him wrap his arm around me. I looked up at him, and felt his smooth lips against my temple.
"I love you." Joe whispered faintly, so that I almost couldn't hear it. I bit my lip, afraid to tell him how I felt.
"I know." I smiled a little, and pulled away slightly. "What time do you want to go?" I asked, and I could see in his eyes that I had hurt him. I didn't mean to, but it just didn't feel right...I wasn't ready.
Joe stared at me, and slowly let me go. He turned away slightly, and he started chewing on his lip. After a minute or so, he looked back up at me. "I thought you wanted to be with me." He whispered, his eyes drifting back down to the deck beneath us.
"Joe..." I breathed, and grabbed his arm, alarmed but slightly turned on by the amount of muscle there. "I do."
His eyes latched onto mine, and I knew then that he was an open book. I had him. "You do?"
"I do." I whispered, and kissed his forehead. "I just want to take it slow." I touched his face, feeling the rough stubble, and then his soft lips on my fingers.
"Okay." He sounded relieved, and that made me feel good. Knowing I could make someone happy.

Hours later, we were in Joe's old pick up truck, heading towards the city to catch a flick. "I heard the new Paranormal Activity movie is playing." Joe said, blabbering on and on about random stuff, that I really didn't care about, that I listened to anyway.
"Whatever." I chuckled, and leaned back, looking at the sun setting. It was beautiful.
Joe must have noticed what I was looking at, and he pulled up to the wharf.
"What are you doing?" I asked, just as he hopped out of the driver's seat.
"C'mon." He said, taking my hand. I got out, and we walked over to the edge, and Joe sat, motioning for me to sit beside him. I did, and he draped his arm over my shoulders.
"What about your movie?"
"Shush. I know you didn't want to see it anyway." He laughed, pulling me closer to snuggle.
"You're right." I admitted, chuckling slightly.
We sat in silence for a few minutes, and when the sun was about to dissapear, Joe turned to me, and cupped my face. His lips met mine, and the static surged through my body like lightning through a tree. They were like velvet, gliding against mine so movie like, so...enchanting.
He pulled away after a minute or so, his lips red and his breathing out of whack. At least I wasn't the only one. He squeezed my hand, and we both got up in sync, walking back to the truck. Neither of us spoke of the kiss, only because it would ruin it. I wanted the magic to last as long as possible.
