This is some footage from a recent tournament. For those of you familiar with tournament sparring you know its in the judges hands. I will let you decide who you think won the matches. I had both of the matches back to back so the judges were the same.

  • @serbskidavid06 but that's just BS cause sparring is nothing like a street fight haha....

  • They don't really fight for sport. They're fighting to see how the technique they learn is going. They go into the sparring tournaments to see how them as a fighter and as a martial art trainer go, if they lose then they will go home and think about how they got beat and how they can better themselves. I'm a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, and I go into the tournaments not to be a show pony but to see how I would react if someone that I don't train with came running at me how I would defend and attack

  • how weak, you fite for sport. i culd knock someone out but to do it for show is pathetic, martial arts is to defend and protect. if ur really such a show pony you choose use ur talent for a silly little show be my gest but that means you have no rite to talk down to anyone else. to winby KO

  • @IHaveNoFingClue lol style is just a useless lable silly goose, and i do " kung-fu and mauy thai" and i say tkd american style is pretty weak but the traditional style is good, and so is tang su do. (prolly spelt that wrong)

  • You know I thinks it's hilarious that, in these types of videos, when the Kempo fighter wins, Kempo practitioners are all like, "Yeah, TKD sucks, kempo all the way!" but whenever the Kempo fighter loses, suddenly you see stuff like, "I do kempo and whatever that is it's not" or "totally unfair. horrible judges." What I think a lot of people don't get is that it's the fighter, not the art that really counts. It all depends on how talented and experienced the competitors are, not on their style.

  • Whatever the fuck that was I know it's not kenpo, I myself am a second degree black belt in kenpo under Dave kovar who recieved honerable grandmaster from the father of American kenpo James mitose, and that was just pathetic

  • Wow....nothing at all like my gym. We fight in the cage...and that decides the winner. Either your standing...or your unconcious. Empire Training Center trains us to fight in the UFC, so if you wanna learn self defense that sure as hell won't leave your opponent standing. Come here..we'll put you to the test..no points at all.

Btw, Kempo isn't that great. A friend of mine always talks about that shit being an instant kill type of martial art....BULLSHIT!! I knocked his ass out to prove it!!!!

  • That is exactly why I don't like point sparring, not all shots get called. Good speed, good power!

  • Mm, an instant replay option would be great to have at tournaments. I, for one, know I definitely saw you get some shots in that were not called, but I guess that's life.

Either way, great job! You're an excellent sparrer. =]

  • Interesting...don't you wish they had 'playback' at tournaments? The camera is totally unbiased and impartial...
