I don't know him, but I've seen the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares and he seems like a doll. I get the feeling that he's more comfortable in his own country. Also, FOX and American television alone is known for editing programs to the extreme.

i disagree. watching his early TV stuff (boiling points and the undercover footage from the 90's) it's quite clear that he gives his staff a good telling off from time to time, albeit not quite in such an over the top and dramatic manner.
in fact he's harsher on his real staff. i wouldn't like to be the guy who can't make a rissoto in a gordon ramsey restaurant

Honestly, I love Gordon Ramsey...but this is so far from the real him...Its so hyped up for TV. I dont give two shits what show its for...NO ONE should be belittled and treated like that. I can emphasise enough how much I admire Ramsey for his talent. But scenes like this are total horse-shit.
