In September of 2007, The Minnesota Shubert Center went on the road with two European rock bands, Visions of Atlantis and Epica on their North American Tour, with the sole purposes of de-mystifying the life of a touring musician and uncover what music business really is all about. In this clip, we sat down with J.W. Stekelenburg, of Ampco Pro Rental (the live audio engineer for the tour) so he could show us what the soundboard looks like and what all the bells and whistles do!

I think the faders are linear not logrithmic and it's actually controlling the Dc voltage going through it which has a variable resistor built in it so when the fader is all the way down (infinite) it has no voltage and when it's at 0dB it has less resistance allowing more current through.
