Why the hell did SoCal's Manny Ortiz travel all the way to South Africa to defend his title? Hopefully he got a lot of money to do so; otherwise, his management team, if there was one, got royally snookered. Ortiz was 34 and past his prime here, plus he was a playboy who enjoyed the nightlife. That took its toll on his professional career but he just loved to party. Credit to Toweel for winning the title but Manny would've knocked the shit out of him had they met in his prime.

Toweel was terrific at that point in time.

He has excellent boxing ability, a talented left hand (Ortiz keeps getting clipped with Toweel's left hook), a good chin, a good variety of punches..

And he was facing a far more experienced fighter in Ortiz.
